Description

The Transgenomic WAVE Nucleic Acid Fragment Analysis System is a complete denaturing HPLC (DHPLC) platform for mutation detection, SNP screening, and nucleic acid fragment sizing and purification. Built on Transgenomic-badged Hitachi LaChrom L-7000 chromatography modules, it combines precision column heating, programmable UV detection, and automated fragment collection - and functions equally well as a conventional analytical HPLC.

This system is identified by Transgenomic System Serial Number 099808DNA and inventory tag LT1004.

Product Details:

  • Manufacturer: Transgenomic, Inc. (Omaha, NE); chromatography modules by Hitachi, Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan)
  • System: WAVE Nucleic Acid Fragment Analysis System (DHPLC)
  • Serial / ID: 099808DNA / LT1004
  • Type: Denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography system with automated fragment collection
  • Pump: Hitachi L-7100, P/N 810-0101 - quaternary low-pressure gradient; dual-plunger reciprocating, series-connected; 0.001–9.999 mL/min; 39.2 MPa maximum discharge pressure
  • Autosampler: Hitachi L-7250 — 120-position rack for 1.5 mL vials; 0.5–400 µL injection in 0.5 µL increments (100 µL standard loop); six-port electrically actuated valve; complete-loop, partial-loop and micro-dosing modes
  • Column Oven: Hitachi L-7300, P/N 810-0301 — 0–80 °C setting range in 1 °C steps, with integrated solvent pre-heating
  • UV Detector: Hitachi L-7400, P/N 810-0401, S/N 1039-016 - programmable variable wavelength, 190–600 nm; deuterium source; 10 nm optical bandwidth
  • Degasser: ERC Inc. L-761, S/N 713C0225 - four-channel in-line vacuum degasser
  • Fragment Collector: Transgenomic FCW-180, S/N 030119FCW-P / 030119FCW-B - dual-plate; 100–240 VAC, 1.5 A, 50/60 Hz, 175 W
  • Control PC: HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF, P/N AT492AV, S/N MXL037110X, Windows 7 Professional COA affixed, with Transgenomic WAVE HSM software installed
  • Applications: Mutation scanning and SNP detection, heteroduplex analysis, DNA/RNA fragment sizing, PCR product and oligonucleotide purification, general analytical HPLC

Features:

  • Complete six-module WAVE stack — pump, autosampler, column oven, UV detector, degasser, and fragment collector — supplied with control PC, monitor, and collector stand
  • FCW-180 dual-plate collector automates fractionation and purification of single- and double-stranded DNA, RNA, and synthetic oligonucleotides, with peak, threshold, slope-detection, and time/volume-window collection modes
  • Column heating to 80 °C with solvent pre-heat — the thermal control DHPLC methods depend on
  • Programmable 190–600 nm detection: 260 nm for nucleic acids, any wavelength for conventional reversed-phase methods
  • Four-channel degassing plus quaternary gradient formation for stable, reproducible baselines
  • Transgenomic WAVE HSM control and acquisition software installed and launching on the included PC

Condition: Used / Inspected

Removed from a working laboratory. Every module powers on and completes its startup routine: the autosampler reports syringe and injection-valve initialization OK, the detector's deuterium lamp and wavelength drive initialize, the column oven displays 23 °C, and the control PC boots into the WAVE HSM software at a working sample-table screen.

The system has not been chromatographically tested. Flow accuracy, gradient formation, pressure hold, detector baseline, injection accuracy, oven stability, and fragment-collector motion under software control are all unverified. The pump displayed a system not-ready status during startup. Sold as-is.

Cosmetic condition is honest for the instrument's age: panel yellowing, general scuffing, dried splash marks on two display bezels, surface corrosion on the autosampler's rear chassis panel, and staining on the collector's aluminum racks. Service labels indicate maintenance performed 2023-02-28 and the autosampler needle replaced 2022-07-11; the unit is past its last service interval and no calibration or IQ/OQ documentation is provided. All photographs form part of the condition description. .
