The LECO GDS900 is a glow discharge atomic emission spectrometer engineered for bulk elemental analysis of conductive solid samples such as metals, alloys, and pressed materials. It uses a glow discharge source (argon plasma) to sputter atoms from the sample surface, which are then excited and emit characteristic spectral lines measured by a CCD detector for elemental quantification.
